<p> The building industry is usually one of the first to suffer during a recession. Many people sit tight on existing properties and few are willing to risk further debt to build a new home. Builders tend to move to cities where there is work, leaving behind smaller towns and districts. However, during the last few years Taupo has continued to attract new house builders, and with its ever increasing population the area has proven that some small towns can buck the national trend. This article discusses three reasons why Taupo continues to grow both in population size and economically. </p><p>
